The day started out with some nice heavy really wet Louisiana-rain. Then we went to the swamps around Honey Island. I realized that this would probably be the one and only time in my life that I take a ride in some swamps so I enjoyed it as much as I could.
The small white things are marshmallows.
Interview with a vampire ended by this 600 year-old tree.
There was a lot of alligators down there. And the beauty and silence of the nature was stunning. The river moved on so slow and nothing changed for a long time and the colors were beautiful and it was kind of surreal with all alligators around me and yeah, it was an interesting experience. The alligators were dependent of marshmallows. It seemed unfair to me cause their teeth seemed a little bit fucked up and they should just eat once a week now they're eating marshmallows and hot-dogs all day long. But it's better than starving I guess.
On the way back to town we checked out the Apollo and NASA thing. It just popped up from nowhere. There were also suburbs with a lot of beautiful houses (the New Orleans architecture is do-you-know-any-other-synonym-of-beautiful? I'd say really human-sized and liveable) unfortunately destroyed by the hurricane. They had crosses on the doors and were completely abandoned.
Breaking news! Michael had his hair burning shooting the Pepsi-commercial 25 years ago, and he got dependent on heavy drugs because of that. So Pepsi is to blame for his death. You always have to blame someone.
Superdeliscious cajun-oysters and grilled fish for dinner then we finally found some great jazz. Young kids dressed quite urban for playing jazz but they were swingin' as hell!
Last late-night-swim and now I'm sitting in the New Orleans airport waiting for my plane back to New York. I'm thinking that maybe hell isn't full of flames and heat but airconditioned. It's nice when it's a little bit chilly but here we're down on minus.
