I miss real mozzarella, not fake cheese with mozzarella flavour.
the Sugar-monster!
All those cakes tastes the same.
This is the moste artifical dessert in the world. Also on my Lemonheads it says: FAT FREE FOOD.
Luca, btw, loves junkfood.
In the beginning here in NY I thought people were too obsessed with organic food. 2 women were standing outside Burger 67 in Fort Greene discussing their third friend that were supposed to come, if she JUST ate organic food or if it was possible for her to eat a hamburger (the best ones in town btw).
It sounded crazy to me. The time passed and I went for a trip to Boston, where people in general are more obese than here in NY. It was also harder to get any decent food, like fresh salad (instead of drenched-in-dressing-ceasar-salad) och fruitstands on the streets. On the way back on the bus I was surprised and disgusted by the fact that along the road there were ONLY McDonalds. Nothing else. A 4-hour ride. Outside the McDonalds big sign said "BUSDRIVERS EAT FOR FREE!" so of course our busdriver stopped there and most of the peope on the bus grabbed a meal there. They then brought it on the bus and ate it there and I was about to vomit sitting there in the middle of all McDonald vapors and obese people not minding what they put in their bodies.
The first thing I did when I came back was a subscription at a gym. I don't eat junkfood like that but I still like a well made hamburger and fries or sometimes a pizza (lately a little bit to often). I eat out almost all the time. It's complicated to go to the supermarkets, they're way too big so it becomes like a huge project. The Grocerys that are everywhere does not sell fresh products and usually milkproducts are too old. My flat-mates often call for delivery-food. Anyway, I often feel like the food that is easy to find here doesn't give you energy or nutrition. It just makes you lazy.
I've read Fast Food Nation and I've seen Supersize Me but I didn't realize how bad the situation is here before living here. The last years i lived in Italy where the quality of the food is supreme and people eat 3-meal-courses 11 o'clock at night without getting obese. I want to see Foods INC. I think it will explain a lot of things. The bad food here is so cheap. You go to the supermarket and get tons of chicken for like 10 dollars and I saw the trailer of that film and realized what KIND of chicken it is...It's so obvious that an artificial HUGE chicken has less nutrition inside than a normal one. And you eat it and think it's healthy but it's just fake.
So at least with the organic choices you might get something more real, paying a more for it of course. I know this is an economical problem and I heard somewhere that americans spend just 9 % on their income on food (but a lot of money on medicines) and that is scary because in Italy for example the dinner is a superimportant moment of the day and I think you should see it as an investment.
I got some apples and oranges down in New Orleans last week, that I then forgot in my bag. I found them today and they looked EXACTLY THE SAME as one week ago. I don't like rotten fruit but I don't like fake fruit either.
I could talk about this for ages. Anyway, here are some pictures of other weird stuff: COSMETICS.
Goat-milk conditioner.Hair Mayonnaise.
